Diamonds In The Ruff is on the cutting edge of the dog-training world. We recognize the fact that much like humans, dogs are individuals, with distinct personalities and needs. What is appropriate for one dog is not necessarily the correct measure for another. We try to tailor the training needs based on personality and breed of the dog. Our training methods are simple; we try to help you create a common language that both you and your dog will understand.

Using “No Limitations” techniques, we teach both you and the dog to communicate effectively with each other. Our techniques teach you how to get your dog’s attention and keep it. Being able to have this much control over your dog opens up a whole new level of freedom for both you and your dog.

At Diamonds in the Ruff, our training program gives you and your pet the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in any situation. Diamonds In The Ruff Canine Training became a realization in 2004 when Kelly Ruff received her Certification as an Obedience Instructor. From that point on there has been no looking back for Kelly. In the fall of the same year Kelly achieved the title of Certified Master Trainer from Canada West Canine Center.

Her thirst for knowledge was once again quenched in the summer of 2007 when she traveled to Prince Edward Island to train with Duke Ferguson of Kings County K9 Academy. It was there she trained for and received her Remote Collar Training Specialist Certification using the “No Limitations” method. At that time Kelly was only 1 of 10 trainers in Canada to hold this certification. Kelly also has certifications in Kennel Management and Pet Grooming.

Kelly holds a seat on the Board of Executives for the Kitimat Humane Society as the Society’s Vice President. Russell, Kelly’s husband, is an instructor for Diamonds In The Ruff. Russell has apprenticed with Kelly for the last 4 years, learning everything Kelly knows.
